Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ! I trust that you are as excited as we are about our upcoming National Youth event. FGC YOUTHFEST 2018 is going to be spectacular as youth from all around our beautiful country gather together to fellowship and worship Almighty God together. I encourage you to assist the organising committee for this historical event by: i) beginning to pray for the success of the event; ii) paying careful attention and complying with the requirements outlined in this package; & iii) spreading the news of the event to your youth structures and begin preparing your teens.
Please take careful note of the following details:
YouthFest Details Date:
3rd – 5th July 2018 (Tuesday Morning – Thursday Night)
Venue: 8 Jan Smuts Ave, Irene,
(please note that Registrations take place on the 2nd July 2018 (Monday) at the Venue and the Grand Finale, including awards ceremony & youth celebration concert, will take place on Thursday, 5th July 2018 @ 6pm at the same Venue). Time: Competition runs from 9am to 5pm each day (these times include Morning Service and Lunch period). Evening activities are being planned.
Teen Talent Competition: The competition categories for 2018 are as follows:
a) Solo Singing;
b) Individual Bible Quiz;
c) Group Dance;
d) Solo Keyboard;
e) Solo Drums;
f) Mass Choir.
Please see the attached folder outlining rules, judging criteria, etc. for each category.
Qualified and experienced judges in the respective categories will be selected by the organising committee. Their credentials and experience will be announced at the event. Please note that the judges’ decisions will be final.
The Timeline leading up to the National event are as follows:
Local church competition completed by: 30 April 2018
Regional Competition completed by : 30 April 2018
Finalists for National Event must be registered by: 10 June 2018
Please see attached folder for entry forms into each level of competition. Competitors must be between 13 & 18 years old at the time of the competition and belong to a Full Gospel Church Youth Group. National forms must include signatures of Local Pastors and Regional Overseers.
Prizes have been allocated for the top 3 competitors in each category. The Executive Council of the FGC has decided on cash incentives as part of the prizes for those who emerge winners this year. 1st Prize – R7,000; 2nd Prize – R2,000; 3rd prize – R1,000 for each category.
The Accommodation Committee will have the Teens accommodated at various arranged areas around the FGC Camping Grounds. Accommodation is limited and will be confirmed on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. The accommodation will only be available from the evening of 2nd July (Monday) through to the morning (10am checkout) of 6th July (Friday). Please note that the accommodation is basic and includes communal ablution and shower facilities. Areas for males and females would be in separate areas of the Camping grounds, with the girls being accommodated in much more comfortable chalets and the boys ‘roughing’ it in other partitioned areas for them. It is recommended that chaperones be vigilant in regards to the accommodation situation.
Alternate accommodation can be arranged at your own cost (with your own transport arrangements) at recommended venues around the Irene/Centurion area. Accommodation on Monday, 2nd July 2018 (day of registration) and Friday, 5th July 2018 (day of departure) will not include meals.
Registration for accommodation is essential. An official will liaise with you once your application for accommodation is received and approved. The cost for Accommodation and meals will be R100 (on top of the R50 Registration fee (which comes to the total of R150)).

Application for accommodation forms must be accompanied by proof of payment in order to be considered. Application forms for accommodation are available in the accommodation folder.
We also expect that each youth group is accompanied by adult youth workers who will be responsible for the safety and wellbeing of their teens. We also encourage local youth groups to create indemnity forms for their teens before travelling, or read and fill the one attached to the Accommodation Application forms.
FOOD Non-resident teens will be able to purchase a food ticket (9 meals) (which will include a wristband) for a price of R100 on the day of the event. Please note that meals include drinks. Drinks will also be on sale for the duration of the event. It should be noted, as well, that no meals will be provided on Monday night, 2nd July 2018, neither Friday Morning, 6th July 2018, and that the Teens should make provision for themselves at this time. Meals will only be provided from Tuesday morning, 3rd July 218 to Thursday night, 5th July 2018. The menu is pending until the Catering Board finalises the logistics with the Catering Company that would be present during the YouthFest. The Committee takes the safety of the sources of food very seriously and would be sure that any Catering Company used would have been selected after much thorough investigation.
Transport All the activities take place at the FGC Conference Hall / Centurion Christian Church at 8 Jan Smuts Ave, Irene, Pretoria. Please note that if any teens are accommodated outside of the venue, that they would be required to provide their own transport to the venue of the Competition and back.
An area for parking will be available at FGC Camping grounds for the duration of the event.
A detailed programme and competition schedule will be circulated closer to the event. Each day will begin with combined Praise & Worship and a time of devotion. This would usually begin by 9am and finish by 11am before commencing with the session of competition. There will be activities running concurrently with the Teen Talent Competition. Some of the open activities planned are ‘Battle of the Bands’, Regional Sporting Competitions (Netball, Volleyball, Soccer, Tug-O-War), Wall Climbing, etc. There will be evening services and then after-service activities. Thursday night at 6pm will be the Grand Finale that will include the announcement of winners and the awards.
